Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Our 2026 theme, Great Is Thy Faithfulness, is a guiding truth for our worship, our fellowship, our outreach, and our daily walk with the Lord. Rooted in Lamentations 3:22-23 this theme reminds us that God’s compassion never fails and His mercies are truly new every morning.
This confession of faith was first spoken in a season of sorrow and uncertainty, yet it rings with hope. In every season of life — joy or hardship, growth or waiting — God remains faithful.
Events
Throughout 2026, our church calendar reflects this theme as we gather regularly to worship, serve, pray, and reach our community. From youth events and outreach ministries to prayer meetings, fellowship meals, and our 40th Anniversary Service, each gathering is an opportunity to witness God’s steady hand at work among us and through us.
Our calendar is intentionally full — not merely with activities, but with moments designed to strengthen faith, encourage unity, and remind us again and again that the Lord has been faithful to Souls Harbor Baptist Church in the past and will continue to be faithful in the future.
Scripture Memory
To anchor this theme deeply in our hearts, we are also committing as a church family to a 2026 Scripture Memory Program. Throughout the year, selected passages will guide us through God’s faithfulness as revealed in His Word — reminding us of His mercy, His promises, His guidance, and His unchanging character.
By memorizing Scripture together, we are doing more than learning verses — we are training our minds and hearts to return daily to the truth that sustains us. As the hymn reminds us, God provides “strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow.” Scripture memory helps us live that truth intentionally and consistently.
The Hymn
Our theme is closely tied to the beloved hymn “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” (Hymn #119 in our hymnbook). Written by Thomas O. Chisholm — an ordinary Christian reflecting on an extraordinary God — the hymn echoes the message of Lamentations with simple yet profound confidence in God’s faithfulness.
We invite you to join us fully this year:
• Attend faithfully
• Serve joyfully
• Memorize Scripture intentionally
• Trust God daily
And may we look back at the end of the year and say with confidence: The Lord has been faithful — every step of the way.
