Conversion Therapy – Proposed Milwaukee Ordinance

The Milwaukee (city) Common Council will be voting on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 to make it illegal for pastors and other counselors to engage in “conversion therapy” with minors.  A parent’s consent does not matter in this case.  If this proposed ordinance becomes law, there will be a fine of $500 to $1,000 for each offense.  If the fine is not paid, the violator will be sentenced to serve time in jail.  As a pastor, I would be breaking the law if I were to counsel a minor who is confused about their gender.  I could not legally tell them what the Bible says, yet however, if I were to affirm their transgender status, that would be lauded.

We need to pray, and make others aware of what our elected aldermen are doing.  Please call up your alderman tomorrow!

If you don’t live in the city of Milwaukee, please still call the mayor’s office or any of the alderman.  This issue will be visiting your community soon.  Let’s stop it in Milwaukee.
